Jay Stones - 'Day Break' New Single [HOT HOT HOT]

This track is HOT. You can really see where R&B is headed with the low tone. You don't need to be famous to sound like World Talent. Chicago native Jay Stones is definitely inspired by TheWeeknd you can hear it.

StraightValue - All My Diamonds [Video] Next In Show Certified

The Pennsylvania state has seen it's rise of stars like Wiz Khalifa and Bam Margera in their selective trades and they have fared pretty well so far. Well if that's the case there should be no problem for native artist StraightValue from Williamsport. His flow is laid back and the video is funny. I see success somewhere along the road. Enjoy.

50 Cent - New Mixtape "Big 10"

Hip-Hops controversy king 50 Cent is at it again. Set to release the mix-tape "Big 10" which commemorates the 10th anniversary of his "50 Cent is The Future" mix-tape released in 2002. This mix-tape which will obviously feature 10 tracks will also have a video for each one according to 50 Cent. He's been in the media a lot lately, I knew it was for a reason. I expect his fifth album to come out around the time Floyd Mayweather and Pacquiao fight happens.

Also peep the ill graphic work on the cover. Taking courses at a graphic design college would definitely benefit anyone who is working on this production.

“I’m shooting videos for every song on the tape. The BIG 10 I got something for a haters ass it called hits lol #SK,” - 50 Cent

Phantogram - Nightlife EP Review

I have been listening to a lot of great music lately, but still, somehow haven't come across Phantogram. They release their Ep, Nightlife. The duo consists of Josh Carter on guitar and vocals and Sarah Barthel on keyboards and vocals. The band formed in 2007. Funny thing about them is they write and record in a remote barn in upstate New York. They refer to it as Harmony Lodge. The band was inspired by the optical illusion known as phantogram, a 2D image that is distorted in a particular way, from a vantage point looks three dimensional. Both Josh and Sarah have been friends since junior high. Earlier on they toured under the name Charlie Everywhere, but later changed the name to Phantogram when they signed with BBE on January 26, 2009. Now on November 1, 2011 Phantogram will release the Nightlife Ep. #nextinshow brings you an exclusive review. You can't pass on this album or this review.

16 Years is a synthesized  indie pop record that stands strong as the mini-Lp's opening track. "16 years on the counterculture" is represented throughout the song. Sarah plays this song great live. Don't Move is track 2 and the first official single from the Ep. Melodic mpc chops make up the beat. A catchy electro-pop sound that could easily be found on your favorite indie radio station. Sarah adds great vocals at the perfect times to make this record stand out.

Turn into Stone almost immediately comes off as a radiohead inspired electro-synth pop record. The digital hi hat best represents the new direction Phantogram has taken. It wasn't long ago that their debut Lp Eyelid Movies, consisted of more subtle music that favored trip hop and darker music. Make a Fist kicks off with a trip hop drum beat, followed by more digital drums and an almost appreciated guitar strum. Once again Sarah Barthel's vocals go just perfect with this song. The kind of voice that gives you goosebumps. The last two minutes of the song get epic. Turn your volume up a few notches.

When i first imported this album onto my itunes, Nightlife was the first song that played. This is also my pick for hottest track on Nightlife Ep. It is a more mellow record, but again Sarah brings comfort to the song. The final track is entitled Dark Tunnel. It is a bit more uptempo and sounds more like a synth rock record. It feels like a good vs evil record. Josh provides vocals on this track, which was suprising, but after Sarah blessed the chorus, everything was in it's right place again.

Check out the Nightlife Ep by Phantogram on November 1st. It will bring joy to your life.

Coldplay Mylo Xyloto Album Review

It has been quite a while since Coldplay has put out an album. Viva La Vida was their last studio album  released on June 17, 2008. Over the summer they released an ep, Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall, which includes two songs off the album and a B-side. Now with their new single out Paradise, it's safe to say the group is ready to conquer the world yet again. Their upcoming album is scheduled for October 25th. Original member of the band Roxy Music, Brian Eno lends additional composition to the album. #nextinshow brings you the exclusive album review for Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto.

The album starts off with the self-titled track Mylo Xyloto. The song is a quick instrumental to the album. Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, previously stated that Mylo and Xyloto are two characters in   the albums storyline. From there, the song blends almost undetected into the next track titled, Hurts Like Heaven. This is an upbeat classic Coldplay sound that almost feels like it belongs in a car commercial.

Paradise, which is the bands next single, comes next. A beautiful string section starts off before being drowned out by an even more epic string section. The song explains a girl trying to make it in the world. When life gets too hard, all she has to do is close her eyes and she will be in paradise. The next track is strangely titled Charlie Brown. Some sort of high pitched chant begins this song. Another epic record that I could only imagine would be amazing live. Things get mellow on Us Against the World. "If we could fly away, float up to the surface and start again". The idea is simple. If we come together, we can have a positive impact on this world for the future of our youth. M.M.I.X begins with rapid guitar strums and ambient sounds. After less than a minute the interlude transitions to Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. First come the synthesizers, letting you know that this track is expecting you on your feet. Then comes the drums, which are a necessity to the equation. The song I think is a metaphor for, Our feeling and emotions are important no matter how big or small the problem.

Major Minus was previously released on the EP. It was my favorite out of the three tracks. It has all the great sounds of old Coldplay and combines it with today's rock star, experimental Coldplay. Another mellow intermission comes with the song U.F.O. This is the way Coldplay started out. Chris Martin's trademarked sound never gets old. Just announced September 9, 2011, the same day the Mylo Xyloto Track list was released, Martin also announced that island princess and diva in the making Rihanna will be featured on the track Princess of China. The songs starts out with a synth or a video game sample being looped. When the drums come in, you can definitely they tailored this beats with Rihanna in mind. The drums have a hip hop influence. Ri Ri comes on the second verse. "Once upon a time, were burning bright, now all we ever seem to do is fight". You know your an amazing artist when you can completely step out of your music genre/element and still be able to stay true and make this song the song that much better. Up In Flames also has some hip hop influence to it, right off the back with it's percussion. Coldplay is very relevant in the hip hop community. Most noticeably Kanye West's Homecoming, and Jay Z's Beach Chair. A Hopeful Transmission should be renamed, A Hopeful Transition. Another 30 second break from our sponsors [Car Ad Here]. Don't Let it Break Your Heart discusses disappointing the person you love. Someone always counting on you and never coming through. Up with the Birds, I believe is a Leonard Cohen reference, as he is listed in the production credits. I feel like the song is broken into two parts. The first part is a Leonard Cohen influenced folk song, and the second half is a much more updated Leonard Cohen influenced folk song, which concludes the album.

[Mylo Xyloto will be a concept album. According to Chris Martin, the album is "based on a love story with a happy ending.", in which two protagonists: Mylo and Xyloto, who are living in an oppressive, dystopian urban environment, meet one another through a gang called "The Lost Boys", and fall in love. Lyrically, the album is inspired by "old school American graffiti" and "the White RoseMovement." Martin also said that the album was influenced by HBO TV series The Wire. Coldplay have stated on several occasions that they want their next studio album to be "more acoustic" and "more intimate" than its predecessor, 2008's Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.] - Wikipedia

The album is amazing and any fan of Coldplay will appreciate this music. Any fan of music should appreciate this music. It is experimental leaves us wondering if Coldplay will ever release another album, or will Mylo Xyloto complete their discography. Stay tuned... #nextinshow
