Best3 of Boston Hip-Hop #nextinshow and Boston's 3 Best - J.C.I.T.Y (Just Couldn't Imagine This Yet)

"dislike for mediocrity is what makes him superior to other MC’s"

If talent was converted into currency, J.C.I.T.Y would be Bill Gates bank account. Referring to J.C.I.T.Y as a rapper is most certainly an understatement. He is a "well rounded MC" born into a class of his own. His style cannot be confined into one category. J.C.I.T.Y’s latest albums “From the Bottom to the Top”, “Back to the Future”, & “Sky Writing” are tangible proof of such. Between the albums J.C.I.T.Y provides 56 tracks of quality music which is very versatile and consistent. It is rare you come across an artist like J.C.I.T.Y who possesses what many like to call, the “No skip” factor. J.C.I.T.Y is known for his ill lyrics, witty punch-lines, great song making ability and honesty. Aside from having the pleasure to listen to good music you also get to know him personally through his songs. He writes songs about topics touching on his life, what goes on in the hood, current events, relationships etc. At the same time he can easily turn around and write a hit song for the clubs or just lyrically annihilate any opposing rapper just for the fun of it.

Unlike many others, the pure passion for Hip Hop and the talent for making quality music is what forced the evolution from Jason Simon to J.C.I.T.Y. He simply has a niche for knowing what the people want to hear, and he is able to deliver without compromising who he is. A combination of that and his dislike for mediocrity is what makes him superior to other MC’s. J.C.I.T.Y has been through many different situations from being shot, to attaining a college degree. His many experiences from both sides of the track allow his songs to have various subject matter. J.C.I.T.Y has seen and experienced life in several cities, but proudly represents the streets of Boston, MA where he was born and raised. Many people proclaim J.C.I.T.Y to be “Boston’s Hip Hop King”, though he would be proud to wear the crown, this nowhere near satisfies him. He plans and is in the process of displaying his undeniable talent to the World. He is arguably Hip Hop’s #nextinshow

Best3 of Los Angeles Hip-Hop - Tyler, the Creator

This week Odd Future starts another 'long trips and sleepless nights' tour kicking off Wednesday night in San Diego, CA. @ihate_chris will be at the show in Los Angeles Thursday night, so be sure to stayed tuned to #nextinshow for that later this week. To some people, Tyler, the Creator and the Wolf Gang might be getting played out, but don't forget that real recognize real and Odd Future is the truth. Their group is very versatile in talents. They produce their own music, promote themselves, and even started their own label. All members are self-made entrepreneurs("a lifestyle i look up to"). He recently received MTV's Best New Artist Award for his exceptional work on the visual Yonkers. His 2nd studio album GOBLIN also released earlier this year and as of September 7, 2011 it has sold 118,000 copies. since then he has appeared on a track with Pusha T "Trouble on my Mind" and also the recently released "Martians vs. Goblins ft Lil Wayne" off the Game's R.E.D. Album.

Www.oddfuture.com has been on/off crashing with traffic in the past couple weeks. Last week Domo Genesis released his new mixtape #Undertheinfluence, which productively trended throughout the day. Then, a few days ago a mysterious song appeared on the site from the newest signee to the odd future label, Young N***** (minus the stars). The track, Come Through Looking Clean', is produced by Tyler, the Creator, and SUPRISE, Young N***** is another alter ego of Wolf Haley aka Tyler. Great stuff though. He really touches his inner Waka Flaka with this character. i can't wait for the mixtape to release, Expensive Pasta.

Last night another suprise leaked onto the WolfGang blog. A group called The Internet, which includes OF dj, Syd tha Kid and Matt Martian (Odd future producer), released a new song called Love Songs. Can't wait for more from them.

Tyler, the Creator and the rest of Odd Future are killing it this year and the next at least. Be on the look out for 2012. The world will end with Odd Future. #Mellowhype article. Look forward to write-ups all week on Odd Future Wolf Gang Members#nextinshow.

Who Are the Drums?

The Drums are an up and coming indie band from Brooklyn, New YorkFounding members Jonathan Pierce and Jacob Graham initially were best friends and seperated early on in their career to venture into other music opportunities. Graham started Horse Shoes, which was signed to a small label known as Shelflife Records, while Pierce formed Elkland and eventually signed with major label Columbia. Soon after both bands were formed both Pierce and Graham grew tired of the overused electronic sounds and decided to trade their synths for guitars. Worked out for the better. Now their album Portamento has been released and is burning up the blogs at the moment. Interesting cover art. It brings an obscure satanic vibe to the music. This album is in heavy rotation at the moment, along with Washed Out, Terius Nash and M83. #nextinshow
