Galaxy Foamposites, Love or Insanity

With all the madness going on this weekend between these Nike Foamposite Galaxy's and NBA All-Star Weekend, I figured this is a perfect opportunity to get a guest post from my good friend and sneaker connoisseur, Mickey Nassrin.

Just when you think a sneaker release cannot generate any more hype, insanity
or fanaticism than it has in years past, we come across the Galaxy Foamposite. In
a short period of time, this sneaker has gone from photo leaks at industry events to
mythical status. Now there have been releases where sneaker heads camped out for
days, forgone income, abandoned their education and spent their girl friend’s birthday
money in an effort to attain their holy grail. However, there has never been a shoe
which has led individuals to resort to using public restrooms for one week, offering to
trade their car or trade in their entire sneaker collection so as to claim a pair of Galaxy
Foams.

The Foamposite is an iconic sneaker in its own right. Having debuted on the
feet of Penny Hardaway in 1997, it was one of a kind upon first sight and has grown in
popularity over the last few years, namely though undying devotion by Wale. However,
this recent offering with a cosmic graphic printed on its silhouette has driven the beast
out of sneaker heads that are pitching tents in front of Mercer St. in New York. The
hysteria has gotten so much attention that CNN has even documented the process.
Ultimately, this drives home the fact that Nike is as much a marketing organization as it
is an athletic and apparel company. With hours left until the release, EBay sellers are
offering to resell this shoe at fifteen times its value. At the end of the day ask yourself,
what would you give up for a pair of Galaxy Foams?

Jordan Retro XI Concords Re-Release Tomorrow

A lot of sneakers have come out this year. Most seem like they were released on impulse, but it's finally time to release the most anticipated sneaker from 2011. The Jordan Retro XI Concord was originally released in 1995 and then later Retro'ed 5 years later in 2000. Now it's the end of 2011 and another Retro is released. This time with an ice blue sole similar to that of its brother, the XI Space Jam. If you haven't been camping out already, then your in for a looooong night. The Concords will be released Friday morning at selected retailers and some might open at midnight tonight. Good Luck.

Don't forget the Kobe Bryant 'Cheetah Christmas Shoe' releases Christmas Day.

Nike Air Mags Released and Auctioned on eBay. Power Laces in 2015?

Remember the movie Back to the Future 2? The way Robert Zemeckis portrayed the future was amazing at the time, but so far from reality. I know everyone remembers the hoverboards and flying cars, but do you remember Marty McFly's get up when he arrived in the future? Long-story short, Nike is finally releasing the Almighty Air MAG's!

1500 pairs will be auctioned off on eBay and all proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The charity auction will run from September 8th, 2011(Tonight!) to September 18th, 2011. Furthermore, Sergey Brin the Co-Founder of Google will match proceeds with a near 50 million dollar donation. This time last year there were rumors of Nike buying rights patented self-lacing shoe. These sneakers will come equipped with official power laces'(Hasn't been confirmed yet, but power laces might not be included) and glowing lights! The shoe is illuminated by pinching the “ear’ of the high top. The feature itself makes it the first rechargeable footwear from Nike. Each shoe holds a five hour charge. It wasn't until yesterday that select sneaker blogs received a package. Inside was a black box which included a pair of metal shield glasses and a iPod shuffle containing an audio clip from Doc(Emmit Brown) Welcome to Los Angeles. If my calculations are correct, over the next 24 hours you are about to see some SERIOUS SH*T!”. I guess Zemeckis' ideas were not that far fetched after all. Check out the YouTube clips below to get a better understanding of how epic these will be. Nike will also have a private conference in Hollywood on September 9th, most likely to break the news. Get ready BiF, I'm coming for you. #nextinshow
