TOP 5 Television Season Finales 2011

2011 was the year before 2012. Obviously, but what I'm trying to say it seems as though the worlds film and music industries were hard at work creating end of the world-esque movies and songs. For the most part TV stayed away, or at least began late with the whole 2012 fad leaving room for some more than decent writing and acting. I have put together in no specific order the Top 5 TV season finales I got to witness this year. If you have any favorites LEAVE A COMMENT because I'd like to know. Perhaps I haven't seen and would be super-duper-extra-de-duper excited to do so. Enjoy!

A huge fan of HBO series and especially Board Empire. The season started with a bang and literally ended with a bang. For you unaware of the show's premise the show centers around Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), a big player during the prohibition period in Atlantic City. There's plenty of violence and the writers should all win awards after every episode. I can't wait to see how next season will pan out. Check out what happened http://www.nextinshow.com/2011/12/boardwalk-empire-season-finale-goodbye.html

What more can I say except Emmy Rossum is excellent and William H.Macy is just as good. A drunk father never home but always around when you don't need him leaves his kids at home to fair for themselves. Taken care of by their older sister (Rossum) the kids find their ways easily into and out of trouble. Leave room for next season because I sense some real nice screenplay.

Known to me as a highly popular show among female viewers as much as the men Sons of Anarchy took us for a crazy ride this season. With the introduction of some new cartel members, feds and a new sheriff I have every reason to believe next season is going to be the wildest one yet. After the death or shall I say killings of several players in this game the gang is confused with lies, theft and now boasts a new leader. But for how long?

By far one of my favorite show's on TV. Weeds also ended with a bang this season, and I don't mean Nancy Botwin up to her promiscuous ways as usual. A sniper appears at the family picnic during this finale and all we are left with is a bang and no guarantee for a Season 8. I hope there is though. Here's what happened. http://www.nextinshow.com/2011/09/weeds-season-7-finale-hit-us-but-who.html

Another show that ended with a bang. This time it was to save the lives of the unfortunate. There is one more promised season which is said to be the final season. If you haven't seen Breaking Bad it follows a now retired school chemistry teacher who started making meth to foot his lung cancer bills, which is why he started cooking to begin with. Now his DEA brother in law has no suspicions it's him however after season 4 there's little room left for error. I LOVE THIS SHOW

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Still in it's infancy the show needs to drastically increase the acting we see. The whole cast should have been replaced before the show started. If it weren't for the make up and story line which barely is there because of the constant nagging and bitching going on the show would suck. Luckily I wanted to see how they could do a zombie story different from anyone else. They haven't really, but at least it's not a movie.

I was put onto this show during a visit to Michigan. I wish for the lead male to be replaced which wont happen. His mouth looks to much like Homer Simpsons mixed with an old monkey snarl. It's just hard to watch a weird face that can't differentiate between pain and pleasure. Claire Danes however has made a supreme come back and I wouldn't doubt she wins an award for her beyond crazy antics and beyond par emotions. I can't wait to see what has happened now that the person I thought would be around awhile is dead. Who will they blame now and what's up with her job?

BOARDWALK EMPIRE [SEASON FINALE] "GOODBYE JAMES" SHOT IN HIS FACE

OMG, if you didn't see Boardwalk Empire last night then you missed out on PRIME TIME TELEVISION. For the followers of the show I am sure you are just as shocked as I am. As we were led to believe things were looking up for Nucky and Jimmy's relationship we were taken for an abrupt turn. Now I figured eventually Nucky would have it out for Jimmy but I thought maybe it would come next season. I mean they had enough to finish this season with a bang already. Chalky White got his "reparations" for his people being killed by the KKK, a bundle of three killers. Jimmy's father had passed and the will would set things right. Maybe? There was the Nucky trial that would have seen the show take a massive turn in plot, but no this wasn't enough.

Let's start with Jimmy, good ole Jimmy, or James if you wish. This kid for awhile has had the balls but no brains to run the boardwalk. Moving ever so quickly in his dealings all the time failing to notice imminent repercussions. Well the time has come, it's evident Jimmy is scared of what he knows which is he can't make everything "right". He's helped the blacks, sorta, spared a few lives but failed to convince the most important guy of his repentance, Nucky. After trying to kill a guy would you expect to be able to convince him it was his brother? Highly doubtful, especially a guy who doesn't give two shits about his brother and know his brother got what he needed after they had their fist fight in the green house. What Jimmy didn't do was use his head, and so for that his head was blown away. Yes, yes, BLOWN AWAY.

I'll take you back through the sequences before his death.

As you should know, but if not, Jimmy's REAL father has passed away. The time has come for Jimmy and his mother to hear out the "will" his father has left behind. Now if you're familiar with his father he was an asshole who also had the same intentions as every other crook. He was also very sick prior to him being sick this time due to his previous maid poisoning him. Coincidentally she was let off and NOT killed. Coincidentally that same maid who tried to kill the colonel was left EVERYTHING. Yes, the will stated she would receive everything. However, with some quick questioning from Jimmy in the tone of If there's no will would I inherit everything  and If I die, does my son get everything? to an answer sounding like "yes". In this instance Jimmy rips the will to pieces. He then advises his goons to re-pin Nucky's trial on Eli, forces the hand of and then kills the sex driven accuser Neary. During the trial Nucky is acquitted.

Nucky heads over the Eli's and tried to make amends, telling him he would do less than a year in jail. Eli has ton's of kids. As this is going on it's no coincidence Jimmy at this point Jimmy is continuing his charity work by taking his son to the beach for a boring looking horse back ride. Definitely fancy though for the times. So, because I have seen it many times before and can watch a show with a handful of expectations at a time I assumed this was the "let me make things right before I go moment" but for Nucky, not Jimmy. I was however wrong. During a call between Nucky and Jimmy it's made apparent that a certain person of interest has been captured and is ready for the killing hour. Jimmy known for always bringing his henchman Richard Harrow denies him the privilege of accompanying him. Already a sign. He also doesn't mention to his mom, who he recently during the will hearing told her to shut up from now on that he's leaving. Seeing his kid's happy at play he doesn't give a hug, probably to refrain from emotions. He simply walks out after saying he loved them.

The meeting:

It's raining, it's pouring the old man is standing. Go and behold Jimmy and Nucky meet in a compromising situation and Nucky has the advantage. During their talk Manny Horvitz is supposed to be killed, however a goon comes up behind Jimmy with a shotgun. Horvitz stands up to reveal the none tied rope. At this point Jimmy gives his ultimatum. He reveals that he died a long time ago in the trenches. Which at the end is shown him running out, in lieu of explosions and other obvious soldiers running away. Now because he's still alive and almost everyone who ran out looked to be killed I'm not sure if him dying in the trenches was a phrase used to describe he lost his "man" or "pride" because he ran like the rest or because he went out and killed people and lost regards for life or feelings back then. Whatever it means it didn't work. As he tried to question Nucky on who he'd be working with pointing out the obviously less gully folks around he also reminds Nucky that it'll catch up with him. The hardest thing to look at is yourself and you have to live with it. Basically trying to coach Nucky into his first kill, which would end his own life. It worked. or didn't it. Maybe Jimmy was trying to "shrink" Nucky but at the end of the day Jimmy left reality with a hole in the left cheek and a hole in his forehead.
