Back in December when Kanye West & Jay Z aka The Throne brought their WTT masterpiece to the Staples Center in Los Angeles CA, no one was sure why the song Ni**as In Paris was repeated upwards of 10 times in a row. A couple months later we come to realize that all of those live performances were eventually edited together to make one epic epileptic visual. Sorry no actual Paris footage was used. Check it out below.
4th Quarter in Music has been standing strong this year, from Coldplay's Milo Xyloto, to Drake's recently leaked/released album Take Care. November 18, 2011Rihanna's her forthcoming album Talk That Talk will be released. Here is an early review of the album. classic? Read more and find out. #exclusive #nextinshow.
You Da One is the opening track of the album and also the next single to be released for radio. Produced by Dr. Luke, this track is just the right pop for the radio. Her first single released was We Found Love, which has spent 2 consecutive weeks at number 1 on the charts. Towards the end of the song, the beat turns to a more dubstep sound, which is so hot right now. You can already see the album going in the direction of club appeal.
This brings me to the next track. Where Have You Been starts off with a thumping 2-step kick. Eventually the beat builds and climaxes with a straight electronic twist. A sidenote, Rihanna's music has done so well worldwide because it is a universal sound. If no one can relate to her lyrics, then everyone can still relate to her energetic, new-age, island sound.
The party keeps going on We Found Love. The song is produced by DJ Calvin Harris. He is featured in the music visual as well. refer to my visual review here . The title track Talk That Talk features Head Honcho Hova. Jay owns the first verse. He is always talking his talk about his dream of a life. "I talk big money, I talk big homes, I sell out arenas, I call it getting dome."
The superproducer Bangladesh, responsible for tracks like Wayne's A Milli and 6'7' has come to the pop side. Cockiness is the song. With a catchy skat sample and a nasty hook, this track will do real nice in a club/party/anywhere people wanna have a good time. "Suck my cockiness, lick my persuasion..." One of my favorite tracks at the present time.
Terius Nash aka The-Dream and Rihanna have worked together before and they happened to create one of the most recognized songs in the world, Umbrella. Now their back with Birthday Cake. Interesting though, it is just over 1 minute in length, so i'm not sure if it is supposed to be considered an interlude.
We All Want Love mellow's out the track and slows up the vibe. The song is still provides powerful lyrics as well as a hard hitting drumkit.
Earlier I stated that Cockiness was my favorite song. Well, now Drunk On Love has been listened to and replaced as the best song so far. This is for the simple fact that producer StarGate sampled and remixed The XX Intro to their debut self-titled album.
Roc Me Out sounds like a recycled track from her previous album Rated R. A darker sound and point of view from Rihanna. The track still works well with the album. Another production credit from StarGate.
The next song is probably my least favorite track. I'm sure it will be a favorite of all the women in the world. A lighter type of energy that I'm not familiar with. 10 out of 11 ain't bad.
Last track Farewell slowly starts with an arpeggio hi hat sample, followed by the drumkit. Another slow jam Rihanna takes time to vent her emotions. Like I said. 10 out of 11 is not bad for the album. This track end the album nicely and will be a look-forward-to song to be performed at her live concerts.
Talk That Talk is a perfect album for the music period we are in right now. Dance, pop, and heartfelt records is what the world needs. Don't sleep on the album. #Rihanna #nextinshow #TalkThatTalk
And just like that Rihanna is ready to release her 6th studio album entitled Talk That Talk. The first single released was We Found Love ft. DJ Calvin Harris, which is completely taring the clubs apart. Now we have an exclusive look at the DELUXE tracklist. No suprise that bossman Jay Z makes an appearance on the title track. Talk That Talk is set to release November 21st.

Earlier tonight Jahlil Tucker aka Jahil Beats, signed to record label Roc Nation. Jahlil is infamous for Chris Brown/Tyga "Holla At Me" and recent radio hit "I'm A Boss" by Meek Mill (longtime friends). Meek recently signed with MayBach Music Group and I thought for sure Jahlil would follow, he is not a follower, he is a leader. This Jahlil is a big part of all of Meek Mill's early success. Them two as a duo is unstoppable. It's time to do their solo projects. UPDATE: apparently the two have drama and are no longer friends. READ HERE #jetlifebeats to get the story. This is the beginning of something great for the young super producer. Having Hova as a boss can't be all that bad. For one, budget and talent will never be a problem. Another plus is, wait until we hear Jay Z go in on a JahlilBeats BEAT. BEEAAAST. 2012 is going to get interesting. #nextinshow
Last year, R&B unknownFrank Ocean, was fortunate enough to land a record deal with label giant Def Jam Recordings. It was actually through a mutual friend, Tricky Stewart, that Frank was able to be seen and heard. Unfortunately his relationship with the record label was compromised, when Frank took it upon himself to leak his upcoming solo debut Nostalgia,Ultra free to download via his Tumblr back in February. The sudden release of the album was almost too overwhelming to handle. His music was soothing and fresh. A real turn for the better for music in general. In the same week The Weeknd was also discovered and leaked his debut album House of Balloons via Drakes Blog, Octobersveryown.net. Music is in a state of rebuilding right now and Frank Ocean has contributed a great deal so far in such a short time.
Frank Ocean - Novacane
Since he evacuated from New Orleans right beforeKatrinahit in 2005, he has worked with some of music's biggest names. He was quick to make a name for himself with his dream-esque writing style. He has written numerous songs for artists such as Justin Bieber(Bigger) andBeyonce(I Miss You) and has most recently appeared on the worldwide album phenomenon known as Watch The Throne(No Church in the Wild, Made in America) just to name a few.
Frank Ocean - Swim Good
After bridges were burned with Def Jam he found himself fitting comfortably with LA's ownOdd Future.Although the Los Angeles based singer is a proud member of Odd Future, in a recent interview he says each member has separate lives outside of the crew. “That’s family” he explains, “It’s a crew, but it’s not like a boy band where we’re like this cohesive thing that moves and does everything together. We’re like a crew of a bunch of different artists who create their own thing and their own wave.” The best is yet to come for this young talent. Be sure to check outFrank Ocean & Odd Future on tour in the US starting September 28, 2011.

It's been a rough road for J Cole getting to this point. He has had his debut album almost come to a complete stop, but wait. What's this? The end of summer he releases the hot radio hit Workout, which included elements from Kanye West's New Work Out Plan, and now recent releases like, Can't Get Enough ft. Trey Songz & the nasty leak from Jay Z and Cole, Mr Nice Watch. There is no way you can expect to sleep on this album. Now Cole World: The Sideline Story has an official release date for September 27th, 2011. From the start Cole has compared his life and love for basketball to that of his career now in the rap game. When playing on the basketball team, he was always on the bench and was ready to move up to that starting position. This relates to how rap is, he must put in enough work to get recognized as a starter. His time has definitely come.
Intro is a smooth piano riff played by Cole. He is talking/rapping to his family and fans about the time he got signed to RocNation as the first official artist on the label. The album's first intended single was Who Dat, released in June of 2010. We all know what happens to music when it gets left on the shelf for too long? It becomes stale. Not enough buzz was created for Cole to release his debut at that time.
Dollar and a Dream III is the final chapter in the series that were included in his mixtapes, like The Warm Up. The record contains a sample from the video game Disney's Kindgom Hearts 2 "Darkness of the Unknown".
Another song that was previously released on another project The Warm Up, was "Lights Please". Cole explained at the listening session that this song was the track that won over his manager Mark Pitt and Jay Z. Another Interlude on the album appears and this one is a audio clip of J Cole explaining the day he found out Jay wanted to sign him. Immediately following, cops pulled him over and arrested him."These n***** have no clue, I'm about to sign this deal with Jay Z... That was the easiest night in jail a n**** could ever do."
Sideline Story is another self-produced cut. I knew the kid could produce, but not a whole project of solid material from front to back. I can now see why Jay felt the need to sign him to his label. This track also contains a sample of The World is a Place performed by the group Rhythm.
The song Cole World is definitely the one you need to be playing in rotation on your iTunes playlist. The track is a party in itself. I'm unsure of the origin of sample at this time, but I am guessing this is another track that compromised the album releasing on time. In an interview Cole states that it was a shame to have to re-record certain songs because of sample clearance issues. "I got a day to make that shit happen – not only match the feel of the sample, but change it enough so it’s not the same.”
The next track In the Morning makes its way onto the album. When first released the song took some getting used to, but gradually rose to the top on my Recently Played List and Radio Stations World Wide. Cole defended his decision to keep the song on album saying, he felt the song never got the push it deserved, and he wanted it to reach more people.
On the song Lost Ones, the young rapper mellows out and speaks to the woman carrying his unborn child. A powerful story that is too emotional and raw too be just a story.
This is a collaborator I have been waiting for to get back in the game. Finally a long overdue appearance by Missy Misdemeanor Elliot on the song Nobody's Perfect. Missy makes up a memorable hook for this one. "Nobody's perfect, but your perfect for me."
~On another note Missy Elliot is not in best health, so make sure to keep supporting her and keep her in your prayers~
Never Told is one of 3 tracks not produced by Cole. Instead, NO I.D. brings his expertise and soul along with him.
The Intro of Rise and Shine samples the documentary Backstage, where Jay Z is talking about finding that one great artist that he’ll sign."He at the table right now with a bowl of apple jacks, and in between eating the apple jacks he writes some shit... And he want my spot. Ima find him though, Ima sign him. I don't want no problems." The story is simple: J Cole Rises to the Top and Shines.
Cole originally wanted Jay Z to end up on the next record God's Gift, but he says that he is a firm believer of things happening for a reason, so he made peace with it. I can see why J Cole wanted this from Jay Z. The beat alone is amazing. Take 'Em to the Strrreeeets!
The final track on the album is Breakdown. The story talks about his struggle growing up fatherless, his mother getting into drugs, and struggling to survive. A true rags to riches story.
Album has been unofficially leaked as of yesterday Tuesday 20, 2011 and it is hot. Before the leak even happened, Cole was anticipating it, and seemed pretty optimistic about the whole thing. “If anything the leak will reach out to more people who might be like ‘ah man, let’s go get this.' So you know, it's kind of like promotion these days—if you got a good album. If you don't have a good album. they'll just trash you. I understand it's apart of the game. I always understood that. As long as people hear it together, it's cool. I just know that people who are going to buy it were going to buy it anyways and the people weren't—probably weren't anyways.”
Full of emotion and raw rap. The whole album is almost entirely self-produced. J Cole is #nextinshow. Be sure to buy the album Cole World: The Sideline Story available September 27th, 2011.
According to a music blog which will remain nameless forlegal reasons, Jay-Z has unofficially dropped J. Cole from Roc Nation. Jay-Z isEXTREMELY unhappy with J Cole, for what is said to be "personalreasons." Actually, the write-up suggests Jay is so UPSET with the youngrapper that he wanted to get PHYSICAL. The insider claims that Jay PURPOSELYmissed J. Cole's private album listening session - cause at the time, if Jay Zsaw him - he would have PUT HANDS ON J COLE!!!
What has given Jay this unsettling hatred toward Cole? Well it's NOT CLEAR. Butwe know that the two rapper "disagreement" happened right around thetime when HUSTLER magazine reported that they had a J COLE and RIHANNASEXTAPE in their possession.
Theywill not OFFICIALLY announce J Cole being dropped until AFTER his debut album ColdWorld is released later this month. But we're told that Cole is gettingvirtually NO BUDGET and NO PROMOTION on his upcoming album. It’s a shame, I sawa lot of potential in the young artist. Don’t worry JC, you’ll find your place.
!!!RUMOR FALSE!!! http://rapradar.com/2011/09/27/j-cole-on-hot-97-angie-martinez/#comment-485268 I just want to add that, although i won't be taking this post down, i do regret writing it. We did not create this website to gossip or to get noticed through rumors. I apoligize. This is a learning experience for me. Check out the Mr. Nice Guy track and look out for COLD WORLD: THE SIDELINE STORY coming SOON.
OK, so what can I say about this video. Hmmmm, well it's A MA ZING to begin with. Secondly I love the ideology of the video being of a man running from a man who reminds me of Mario Van Peebles role in Posse. If you listen to the song Kanye iterates sin is really nothing if it's OK but deceit and backstabbing are what get you into trouble. I assume the guy running is to portray maybe a JC type character running from those lost dark souls who don't believe there's #NoChurchInTheWild. The idea of making this a western/southern and plantation accented video plays deeply into the idea of things being wild, especially in that era when opinions really didn't matter. It was the way of the World, as Kanye mentions you can have all the money and die with it but we'd probably spend it because life is hard. Money is the root of all evil, that's what they say, when you're making money it's at the hands of "the wild" I assume the industry. As long as you don't deceive them shit you can do anything else you want, #NoChurchInTheWild or no one here to judge you. Just don't screw us over.
I am intrigued by what I have seen @H5CHigh5Collective produce and their ideas seem to dwell in the dark, in the wild to a sense even if it's inside a house. Their videos are insane, the crew from what I can see close knit. All the makings of innovative #nextinshow material.
I now bring you:
