#NEXTINSHOW: The Year In Music

It seems like 2011 was the year for people to step out of their comfort zone and start trying something new. A lot of artist came together to collaborate, not to mention the whole dubstep/DJ scene that took over and heavily influenced hip hop. Next In Show is less than 6 months old and already we have accomplished so much. Most of the credit goes to you the reader and all the artists and submissions that we receive. Special Thanks to Kid Boogie & FlowJo Stevo for the premieres and the continued support. NIS has been fortunate enough to work with all these amazing artists and we look forward to what the future has in store for us in 2012. (New Years Eve we will be releasing a special unreleased Cali Swag District Interview *RIP M-Bone* and also an Interview with upcoming rapper OhJay for the release of her debut mixtape 'Crowd Molesters". Get Ready To Pop Bottles!!!
NEXT IN SHOW 4 PRESIDENT

TOP 3 #NEXTINSHOW Artist(Albums)

* Niko Villamor - Inertia *
This is one of those albums that is easy to listen to, but also in heavy rotation because of it's melodic charm. Might be an underrated artist now, but for an almost perfect debut album, I can only see things getting better for Niko.

Songs to look out for: (Studios & Hotels, Decay, Kevlar Heart)

Download Here

*Iman Omari - Energy *
Energy was instantly inducted into my personal 'albums hall of fame'. The album is heavily influenced by Jazz, but brings a modern twist to the equation. Studying vocal jazz in art school, you can see it plays a big role in this album as well as Iman's life.

Songs to look out for: (I'll Do Anything For You, Let Me, Energy)

*Ryshon Jones - Brightest Nights, Darkest Days *
Although this isn't the first album from rapper Ryshon Jones, Brightest Nights, Darkest Days has closed out 2011 as being one of the most inspiring and influential albums of the year. Such a classic album, but with such a new sound. The catch here is Ryshon has used amazing beats and production with current and buzzworthy samples from artists like The Weeknd, Frank Ocean and Bjork to name a few. This method is something that works perfect for Ryshon. Next In Show had the pleasure to meet and interview Ryshon in the beginning. He was our first official artist to work with. Shout out to that loveable white girl at 2WhiteGirlz.com

Songs to look out for: (Crying In The Club, Champain, Neo Renaissance)

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Sing The Question 'What Are You Doing New Years Eve?' [Video]

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are mainly known for their acting, but don't count them out of the music game quite yet. Both with such individual sounds, the two come together to sing this beautiful mellowdy.
Zooey had this to say about the video:

"I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he's simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year's duet for all of you! The original by Nancy Wilson. ENJOY!"

Both with such individual sounds, the two come together to sing this beautiful mellowdy.

"What Are You Doing New Years Eve?" No really, what are you doing? Happy New Year #nextinshow.

TOP 5 Television Season Finales 2011

2011 was the year before 2012. Obviously, but what I'm trying to say it seems as though the worlds film and music industries were hard at work creating end of the world-esque movies and songs. For the most part TV stayed away, or at least began late with the whole 2012 fad leaving room for some more than decent writing and acting. I have put together in no specific order the Top 5 TV season finales I got to witness this year. If you have any favorites LEAVE A COMMENT because I'd like to know. Perhaps I haven't seen and would be super-duper-extra-de-duper excited to do so. Enjoy!

A huge fan of HBO series and especially Board Empire. The season started with a bang and literally ended with a bang. For you unaware of the show's premise the show centers around Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), a big player during the prohibition period in Atlantic City. There's plenty of violence and the writers should all win awards after every episode. I can't wait to see how next season will pan out. Check out what happened http://www.nextinshow.com/2011/12/boardwalk-empire-season-finale-goodbye.html

What more can I say except Emmy Rossum is excellent and William H.Macy is just as good. A drunk father never home but always around when you don't need him leaves his kids at home to fair for themselves. Taken care of by their older sister (Rossum) the kids find their ways easily into and out of trouble. Leave room for next season because I sense some real nice screenplay.

Known to me as a highly popular show among female viewers as much as the men Sons of Anarchy took us for a crazy ride this season. With the introduction of some new cartel members, feds and a new sheriff I have every reason to believe next season is going to be the wildest one yet. After the death or shall I say killings of several players in this game the gang is confused with lies, theft and now boasts a new leader. But for how long?

By far one of my favorite show's on TV. Weeds also ended with a bang this season, and I don't mean Nancy Botwin up to her promiscuous ways as usual. A sniper appears at the family picnic during this finale and all we are left with is a bang and no guarantee for a Season 8. I hope there is though. Here's what happened. http://www.nextinshow.com/2011/09/weeds-season-7-finale-hit-us-but-who.html

Another show that ended with a bang. This time it was to save the lives of the unfortunate. There is one more promised season which is said to be the final season. If you haven't seen Breaking Bad it follows a now retired school chemistry teacher who started making meth to foot his lung cancer bills, which is why he started cooking to begin with. Now his DEA brother in law has no suspicions it's him however after season 4 there's little room left for error. I LOVE THIS SHOW

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Still in it's infancy the show needs to drastically increase the acting we see. The whole cast should have been replaced before the show started. If it weren't for the make up and story line which barely is there because of the constant nagging and bitching going on the show would suck. Luckily I wanted to see how they could do a zombie story different from anyone else. They haven't really, but at least it's not a movie.

I was put onto this show during a visit to Michigan. I wish for the lead male to be replaced which wont happen. His mouth looks to much like Homer Simpsons mixed with an old monkey snarl. It's just hard to watch a weird face that can't differentiate between pain and pleasure. Claire Danes however has made a supreme come back and I wouldn't doubt she wins an award for her beyond crazy antics and beyond par emotions. I can't wait to see what has happened now that the person I thought would be around awhile is dead. Who will they blame now and what's up with her job?

Foster The People Talk Song Writing and Dog Whispering

Upon my arrival to one of my favorite sites I came across an interview with Foster The People. In the video interview they speak about song writing and the importance of them not writing the same song twice. They also go on to speak about The Dog Whisperer which they say is one of their favorite shows. There's a lot of good stuff going on with this group and hey maybe one they their song will be sung to dogs as a way to ease their temperament.

Michael Jackson, Katherine Jackson and William Hall?

Katherine Jackson made a stop by the "Legends in Concert" series at the Harrah's Hotel in Las Vegas to get a glimpse of William Hall. Hall known for his almost perfect impersonation of the late MJ posed with a picture of his fake mama. I wonder if she felt the most comfortable she's felt since MJs passing? The guy's good.

DNTE *Hungary DJ* Exclusive Interview

This week Next In Show came across another internet sensation from another country. This time DNTE has provided us with sounds for the future. A Hungary native, DNTE is travelling all over Europe right now to promote his latest effort entitled Wake Up. Don't expect the same old dubstep. This sound is ahead of it's time. Fits as the Next In Show feature of the week. Check out the Exclusive Interview below.

Dnte - Wake Me UP by Dnte

What does DNTE represent?

Dnte is one of the newest, fresh artists to make impact on the scene of electronic music.
He achieved some uniqe sounding of his own, where the classic instrumentation is mixed with synthetic sounds, creating a surreal atmosphere this way.

Where are you from?

Hungary

Have you ever been to the states?

Not yet.

What is the biggest difference and similarity between yourself and the Artists from the United States?

difference : sound
    similarity : love of music

I took a look at your catalogue and it is thorough. What motivates you to consistently put out music?

The music is the one of the best way to express feelings in your own language. I would like to share my music with more people.

How was your EP Wake Up inspired?

"Wake me up EP" is a story about guy who have to wake up and see the truth. It is tells 8 experiencies about life.

What is your favorite track?

From my album my favorite track is "wake me up", that's why i gave this name my album too.

When did you begin producing your own music?

I've been producing music 2004,but working about my Wake me Up EP from 01/2011

I read you produced many beats for hip hop groups. Do you just give people a disc of your instrumentals?

no, sometimes they write me , sometimes i write , you know the way of collabo, if you like the other stuff... great to work together.

like this hip hop band :

In October you performed in Germany. How did it go?

was super, it was organized by Finest Ego and Skribblegebibble

How are you ringing in the New Year?

I will spend time with my girlfriend somewhere over the rainbow.

In 2012 what can we expect from DNTE?

Many remixes, live act in Italy, France, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary, England, Germany... and new songs by me.

What is one piece of advice for people wanting to make music a career?

Good question. Doing-doing-doing your own stuff!!

Jersey Shore 'SEASON 5' TRAILER Sex Karma and Tanorexia. FINAL SEASON?

YES, I mean YAY Jersey Shore is back. Season 5 couldn't have come sooner after the Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Sons Of Anarchy and Walking Dead season finales this season. I needed some good entertainment  from the Shore cast and judging by the previews it appears as though everyone is the same, the exact same. I didn't catch a good glimpse of Vinny but everything seems to be the same. Pauly D will encounter some Tanorexic set backs, the guy tanned his skin off and then exfoliated. He should be alright though just throw some coco butter on it man. Our beloved Snooki is already on her way to pulling a last season ass showing stunt that would see Jionni going nuts again. Don't save em Jionni, don't save em. JWOWW looks so damn good it's a damn shame. JWOWW if you read this please let us interview you there's some crazy questions we have, between ourselves. We're not far either hehe.

If you want to know about the Situation well then ask yourself, isn't their always a Situation. Sammi looks like the sun shining on a wet spot in 20 degree weather and Ronni looks like he wants to cheat. I hear somebody goes home, I may even know already but I'm sure you'll want to find out on your own. I'll be back during the season to evaluate everyone including after the first episode. DON'T MISS IT because it's rumored that the cast wants to quit the show after Season 5 to pursue solo projects and endorsement deals. I would imagine all except Pauly D and Snooki failing at being a solo celebrity. Those two have personalities and bring a vibe to any environment. Pauly D is comedic and can make people laugh, he can also attract a crowd. Snooki with her antics and fearlessness would be a BIG HIT on a solo show, without JWOWW. If Khloe Kardashian can sit and tell Barbara Walters that her and the family are "entertaining people" I think Snooki can do some damage. She's way more entertaining and for the most part what you see is what you get, she doesn't work the system like some families. WATCH THE SEASON 5 TRAILER BELOW

Ryshon Jones Releases Highly Anticipated *Brightest Nights, Darkest Days*

Christmas was good to Hip Hop this year with Ryshon Jones @ryshon215 release of Brightest Nights, Darkest Days. I know I am a little late. No excuse to sleep on this album. From start to finish this album has proven Ryshon's growth and success in this game. It only gets better from here. Look out for haunting Weeknd samples and other hott suprises. The engineering on this project is for lack of a better word, flawless. Its a complete body of work rather than your usual song after song, going nowhere stories. Fresh artwork by Janice Cartwright @psimdope & Gianni Lee. Ryshon Jones closes out 2011 with a Top 10 Album Of The Year.

Drake Has Mixed Feelings About Woman Who Got His Name Tattooed On Her Forehead [Video]

Drake recently performed back to back shows in Los Angeles last weekend. He sat down with LA Leakers Host Mando Fresh and the topic of the tattoo was brought up. He didn't seem to pleased about it. Something along the lines of, "If I ever see that tattoo artist I'm gonna fuck him up". Check it out for yourself.

Ludacris x Meek Mill - Say It To My Face Visual *Produced By Juicy J

Ludacris releases his visual for the track "Say It To My Face" featuring Meek Mill. The song is from his mixtape 1.21 Gigawatts:Back To The First TIme, which in my opinion is one of his better bodies of work. Luda takes it back taking inspiration from his earlier style and wordplay. This also happens to be my favorite from the list. Meek kills the song.

Juicy J is doing big things right now. His production is highly anticipated for 2012

Jordan Retro XI Concords Re-Release Tomorrow

A lot of sneakers have come out this year. Most seem like they were released on impulse, but it's finally time to release the most anticipated sneaker from 2011. The Jordan Retro XI Concord was originally released in 1995 and then later Retro'ed 5 years later in 2000. Now it's the end of 2011 and another Retro is released. This time with an ice blue sole similar to that of its brother, the XI Space Jam. If you haven't been camping out already, then your in for a looooong night. The Concords will be released Friday morning at selected retailers and some might open at midnight tonight. Good Luck.

Don't forget the Kobe Bryant 'Cheetah Christmas Shoe' releases Christmas Day.

Lights Is #NEXTINSHOW

Back in 2008 when she first hit the music scene, Lights was just another girl with a dream of being a rockstar. She was a singular light, who produced, engineered and wrote her own music. That year she released her self-titled debut album, which won her Best New Artist at the Juno Awards. This is rare to find from an indie pop singer, that's why when she was only 16, Lights signed a publishing deal to begin writing for other artists. Now at the end of 2011 with her release of Siberia, she is #nextinshow for 2012. With the whole dubstep movement going on right now, I can see why Lights has began down this path. Although she always involved electro synths and up beat sounds, her new music will be steered more towards the dubstep movement while keeping the simplicity and simplicity of pop music. October 14 she released Siberia, a much more experimental album that definitely works. Lights had this to say about it.

“I went over to Brian [Borcherdt’s] house with Graham [Walsh] and we just started jamming until something started to form, as opposed to the last record which was more structured and less live feeling. We wired old synths and toy synths through all these pedals and machines from their junk table,” she laughs. “They’re straight-up mad scientists.”

BUTTER CRISIS IN NORWAY - FAMOUS BLOGGER ENRAGED AT AMERICAN COMEDIANS [VIDEO]

As I've heard through this week there seem's to be a butter crisis in Norway. From my understanding it's due to some new diet they have going on that involves butter. That however is what I read on a few American websites. So it's always "in the air" when it come's to who's right when it comes to the US reporting about another country's crisis. Here is a video of a supposed famous blogger in Norway (investigating) going off on citizens of America, comedians in particular about their jokes and lack of care or generosity. Enjoy!

Echoes Of Silence *Review'd*

His third mixtape may be more experimental and different than his previous two. On Twitter, Abel stated, "I hope they don't hang me for my decisions on Echoes of Silence"

D.D begins with smooth harmonies and a high pitched sample in the background. Nobody could ever begin to prepare for what comes next. A different Weeknd approaches the mic and immediately resembles a young Mike Jack. Sure enough by the chorus we come to find out that D.D stands for none other than Dirty Diana, a Michael Jackson classic. The Weeknd suprisingly accomplishes his portrayal of the late Michael. Amazing way to start off your record kid.

Next song, Montreal opens with more homeade harmonies from Abel. The drums hit and a filtered sounding Weeknd sings about what Montreal means to him. This headbanger get's you moving either in the bedroom or on the dance floor. One way or another it's going down, basement. Interesting sounds make up the next track. Almost like an 80's kung fu movie. Mandolin plucks and flutes make up the beat accompanied by the modern sounds of The Weeknd's drum kit.

Outside has Abel almost crying about a woman in his life. I believe he started the emo grunge sound last year when he released House Of Balloons. Nobody knew what to do with it, but listen and love it.

XO / The Host is my favorite track up to this point. I'm sensing a mixture of sounds from his previous tracks, The Zone and Loft Music from House Of Balloons. Throughout the song Abel sing-raps about the infamous XO that their crew reps. XO interludes by slowing up the beat and transitioning into The Host, which is The Weeknd

Initiation was leaked by Abel himself a couple months ago. Still such a dope experimental track. Interesting how they engineered the pitch to frequently go up and down. The lyrics depict his more private sessions with girls I think.

Same Old Song is not the same old sound. Again they include some sort of mandolin plucking sound. It really goes nice with the album. There is honestly nothing bad I could say about this album. In less than a yearThe Weeknd managed to complete 3 hall of fame records to begin his career and end 2011. Here's a clue about the song. The same old song means the same old girl. ;)

The Fall begins with The Weeknd's signature adlibs. He borrows influence from Drake periodically, vise versa though. Mid song you sense this when he raps. "my cup full of Texas, flowin' on that OVO jet yeah I said it, was forced to be reckless was forced to make records so you don't gotta ask who's next." Abel get's cocky with it, and shows why he is #1 in R&B, Indie, Emo-Pop, and any other genre you can think of. Ok now I myself am getting carried away. The producer flips the beat a bit at the end of the song.

Next is Next. This song has hints of MJ inspiration. although the song sounds uptempo, the vibe is more emotional. "You just want me cause I'm next..." goes the chorus. The story about a woman in love with Abel solely because he is #NEXTINSHOW. After this emotional rollercoaster starts to settle, a mellow piano riff closes the song. The title track

Echoes Of Silence blends well with the previous track. The song has been stripped down to just a piano and his 'emocals'(trademarked). This could be a personal message to a special woman in his life or maybe for all women in general.

Thus concludes the three-part trip that is TheWeeknd 2011. This album is amazing and can't wait to hear what you have in store for everyone in 2012. End of the World Music?

Rare Performance

The Weeknd Releases Echoes Of Silence

First came, House Of Balloons, then Thursday released. Now Echoes of Silence is the third installment from The Weeknd. Less than a year ago, Abel aka The Weeknd surfaced onto the scene by mysteriously releasing a body of work to the internet. The album was released through new found friend, Drake's official blog, and the rest is history. The Weeknd is missing from the Freshman List of 2011 and 2012. In reality he has already surpassed the title of freshman and graduates with this album Echoes Of Silence.

Rebecca Black 'Friday' Best YouTube Video in 2011

You heard it correctly. YouTube has determined that 'Friday' by the infamous Rebecca Black has ousted all other videos this year with 180 million views. Whoo lord that's a lot of views. I could split that number of views up and make a successful living forever. I personally wasn't a fan of the video when it first debuted but now I say GO ON AND DO YO THANG. Haha. I am here to help you guy's and she definitely earned her keep, you watched it she won. Congrats

'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' New Teaser Trailer [VIDEO]

YES! Finally Peter Jackson is banking again, I mean he's finally putting out another movie. 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' by J. R. R. Tolkien with Ian McKellen. For you Lord of The Ring fans and KingKong fans it's what we've been waiting for, another movie with battling dwarfs, hobbits, wizards and more. We even get Gollum, niceeeee. Unfortunately, for you folks who can't wait like myself you literally have to wait an entire year to go see it. You heard correctly the movie doesn't come out until next December. I hope that's a lie because it's certainly a force. I'm glad Elijah Wood stopped that dog TV show too, whats the name of it Wilbert? I dunno.

The story is about Bilbo Baggins a Lord of The Rings vet who is approached by another LOTR vet Gandalf the Grey. He's approached with the idea to go and reclaim his home town the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. He is teamed up with thirteen other little guys and a true warrior named Thorin Oakensheild. Bilbo must get through an array of enemies like orcs, goblins, shapeshifters, Sorcerers and of course Gollum. The psycho path is back. Nice. Although, i'm not used to Ian McKellen whooping butt I still imagine how incredible this film should be if the Mayan calendar has no significant meaning.

The film stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, Mike Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O'Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott, Jeffrey Thomas and Aidan Turner.
