Next In Show "21 Jump Street" Review (Spoiler)

Last night was a rare occasion for me because I went out and payed money(AMC giftcard) to watch a motion picture rather than screen the camera quality from the web. The crew and I mobbed to the Santa Anita AMC Theatres to see the fresh rendition of the classic undercover classic 21 Jump Street. The movie stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum and what a great team they were. Channing and Jonah seem to really have co star chemistry throughout the whole movie. In fact, both actors were on late night shows last weeks confessing that they spend a lot of time together off set hanging out.

21 Jump Street is a 80's classic tv series that starred Johnny Depp and Peter Deluise. The synopsis of the series was about an undercover department located at an abandoned korean church on 21 Jump St. in Los Angeles. The new and, in my opinion improved, take on this classic is shown from a different angle though where comedy is the basis of the story. This made for an entertaining comedic rollercoaster of catchy jokes and shut the hell up funny lines.

The movie starts off 5 years early when Schmidt (Jonah) and Jenko (Channing) are seniors in high school. Both are on opposite ends. Shmidt is a nerd and Jenko is the popular one. Fast forward 5 years and both meet each other again in police training academy. This time they rely on each other to pass the academy and become best friends instantly. "You ready for a lifetime of being badass motherfuckers?" Cut to Schmidt and Jenko as bike cops at a local park. The comedy throughout keeps up the flow of the movie. After making a drug bust on Domingo (Deray Davis), the police captain informs them that they forgot to read the criminal his miranda rights and is let free. Instead of being fired the two are demoted to an undercover program that is being ressurected from the 80's...pun intended. They show up at 21 Jump Street to find an abandoned Korean Church. Inside is a small group of young looking high school people. Captain Dickson (Ice Cube comes to the center to announce that both Schmidt and Jenko will be going undercover as brothers at a local high school to bring down a new drug manufacturer.
